Media Forms

  • Different ways people communicate with others, such as newspapers, television, radio, and the Internet

Examples of Media Forms



Magazines is general interest regular periodical (typically a monthly) covering several topics by short articles by in-house and external authors, carrying black and white and color advertisements and graphics, and printed usually on glossy paper. It is a part of communication to people nowadays because there is a lot of useful information that people can get from there. 




Newspaper is the earliest media forms that people seek for information, entertainment, and other general interest news. Its written by profesional journalists and usually newspaper printed everyday that reports the news and the current events from the whole world. 





Internet is a global network that connecting to millions of computers around the world. More than 100 countries are using internet to seek data, news, and opinions. Internet are very important to people nowadays. All you want to know or need to do now can be done over the internet. Television is a part of media forms that transmitting and receiving moving images with sound. The first version of television is in black and white color screen and it transform from years to years to become a television with colored screen. Usually television used to broadcast programs for entertainment, information and education. 





Radio has the same character with television, they give you information, news, entertainment and so on but radio can only be heard. People only can hear the sound and radio does not displaying images. Radio also plays music that people want to hear and there is a disc jockeys(DJs) that will keep update to the listeners about news, weather, traffic, sports, music and so on. 






Twitter is social media type that mostly people will keep updating their thought, status on twitter. Twitter is the largest social media other than facebook. People on twitter can communicate with each other without no worries about what people will say about them. For a celebrity, is a new way for them to interact with their fans more friendly other than facebook, myspace and so on. 




Youtube is place for people to share videos, upload and search the video that they want to watch. It is also a place for people to show their talent on youtube. Mostly people who have talent such as a talented singer will upload their video on youtube and people will give comment whether is good or not. For example, our Malaysian youtube artist; Zee Avi and Najwa Latif. 





Photography is when you see a beautiful moment and you capture it at the same time. People can see the same moment but they will get a different picture because not everyone will get the exactly picture/moment that they want. Photography can make you well known by others if you take a beautiful picture that others can't get. It also can promoting your business if you use an attractive pictures to gain your customers.  






Videography is a the same media as photography but videography is a process of capturing moving images on videotape, video camera, and so on. It is the equivalent of cinematography, but with images recorded on electronic media instead of film stock. People take video to record a valuable moment in their life such as birthday, wedding, anniversary and so on. 




Mobile Phone is very important to people nowadays. Even a 6 years old kid also have a mobile phone. Its the easiest way to keep contact with each other. There is a new evolution of mobile phone which we called as smartphones. Smartphones is a phone that have multi function on it. For example, with smartphones, other than texting and calling, it also can connect to internet and you can search news, entertainment, education with just using your smartphones. Plus, you can update your facebook, twitter, myspace account anywhere and anytime.
